Hostel: Kele Matoshri Vasatigruha
Having started the school for the handicapped in hearing, we soon realized that the beneficiaries were from the urban areas only and no child from the far of rural area could have any access to and benefits of the noble act of our founder members. They soon realized that if children from rural area are to be brought into the mainstream of society, we have to provide them with boarding facility. To fulfill this necessity, The Institute For Rehabilitation Of Handicapped in Hearing started Hostel Project spread over an area of 4875 square feet in June, 2002. Currently 60 students are fetching the benefits of this Hostel Project. These students come from Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Nasik district in Maharashtra. Few students also come from the neighboring states near Dhule district i.e. Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
We are running this project successfully without any Government aids from past 12 years. Spacious buildings, dedicated staff, pleasant climate, clean and tidy kitchen with hygienic and tasty food, solar water heating system, purified drinking water, double decker cots with blankets, pillows are among the few facilities we provide to our children. Sports equipment for playing and television for entertainment are also provided. In our keen supervision, the Rector along with 6 dedicated staff is serving these children day in and day out.
Food is provided as per the Government norms – Breakfast, Lunch, Midday Meal and Dinner. Food is enriched with various vegetables, fruits, salad, dal (grams), sprouts, chapattis, rice etc. We are able to provide nutritious food to our students only because of the generous donors from India and abroad who always stood by our side in this kind act of ‘ANNA-DAN’. We have nearly 232 donors and we look forward to at least 368 more donors so as to be complete the figure of 600. (2 meals per day i.e. lunch and dinner which comes to about 600 meals in 300 working days -- 65 holidays excluded -- ) It’s our sincere and humble appeal to the society for this food-donation.
We won’t be exaggerating or boasting if we say that ours is one of the best Hostel Projects in the state of Maharashtra. We appeal to you sincerely to come, visit and appreciate our efforts of our dedicated staff towards upliftment of the hearing handicapped children.
