'Institute for Rehabilitation of Handicapped in Hearing' (IRHH) was established with a very pure and sacred intention to educate the unfortunate and often neglected hearing handicapped children. The School was inaugurated on 26th Jan.1980 with 16 students in the premises of the Red-Cross. This was the first of its kind devoted to the hearing handicapped children. OBJECTS for the ‘Institute for Rehabilitation of Handicapped in Hearing’(IRHH) was started.
i) To provide educational and vocational training to persons with impaired hearing.
ii) To provide facilities to intensive language and speech training to infant deaf.
iii) To start early detection and training program for small babies suspected of impaired hearing.
iv) To educate parents having children of impaired hearing.
v) To provide maximum physical facilities, equipments and such other instruments as are necessary for correcting the deafness of such children.
vi) To undertake and to promote clinical, scientific and experimental research for the above objects.
vii) To undertake such other activities as are conducive to above objects.
The area of operation of the society is primarily restricted to the district of DHULE, JALGAON, NASIK AND NANDURBAR but it can be extended to the whole of the State of Maharashtra.
